SIM-one Provincial Equipment Coordination

The SIM-one Provincial Equipment Coordination Service (SPECS) is an Ontario-wide simulation equipment coordination service.

SPECS will provide Ontario and its simulation centres with the foundation needed for future collaborative advantage. This Service will provide the basis for the strategic management of Ontario's investments in simulation equipment across health professions, in the Province's community colleges and public universities, and in the clinical setting. SPECS promotes sustainability, enabling cost-efficient access to simulated learning and—ultimately—better patient care and patient safety in Ontario.

SIM-one is in the midst of completing an inventory database of simulation equipment across Ontario that will give us a greater understanding of the Province's current simulation equipment landscape. This database will provide us with accurate snapshots and real-time reporting as well as customized reports for each simulation centre.
